THE GOOD SHEPHERD CELEBRATION FUNDRAISER. Redeemer and Pastor have been together for
ten years. We are celebrating! The theme
is “The Good Shepherd,” based on St. John
10: 11—“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good
Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”
Part of our celebration is a fundraiser to
work on projects at Redeemer, locally and
abroad. We are asking every communicant
member to give at least $100 this year above
and beyond the tithes and offerings to be
dedicated to this project. Some of us can
donate more and will do so, yet we hope that
every communicant member will be able to
make this investment as we are witnessing
Christ.
A Project at Redeemer---renovation of
the undercroft kitchen and the Parish House.
We hope to be able to raise at least $85K
for these projects.
A Local Project --- creating a grant
to encourage another local congregation to
start or support a mission that we have done
during these last ten years. We hope to be
able to raise $5K for this one-time grant.
An Abroad Project—funding a mission
far away that helps people to receive,
teach, celebrate and share Christ Jesus.
Communicant members will have the
whole year (until Good Shepherd Sunday 2012)
to make their donations to this special
fundraising project. Friends
of Redeemer are also encouraged to give to
this project—anyone who has
benefited from God’s grace through Pastor
Taylor and Redeemer, especially during these
past ten years. Do you have friends,
relatives and others who have been blessed
by God through Pastor Taylor and/or Redeemer
during these past ten years? Encourage
them to participate in this fundraiser, too.
What a celebration this shall be!
Recognizing scheduling challenges, we
shall end the Good Shepherd Celebration
during the April 28-29 Liturgies as we give
thanks to God at His holy altar at our
regular 7PM, 8AM and 11AM Liturgies without
any other special Liturgies that weekend.!
DO YOU HAVE FRIENDS?
“Friends Letters” are available for you.
They are located in a basket under the pew
in the narthex. The packet includes
letters and envelopes that you may send to
your friends about the Good Shepherd
Celebration. Remember, the Good
Shepherd Celebration is about how our Lord
has graced Redeemer and Pastor Taylor during
these past 10 years together. Our
fundraiser is a way to celebrate this by
adopting a far away project, helping a local
mission and attending to projects at
Redeemer.
