special blessing of the children and youth
during our 12Noon and 7:30PM Liturgies. Be
sure to bring all children and youth to this

blessings; hinder them not and bring them to
the house of the Lord.
BLESSING OF THE MEN. On
June 16-17, we shall have a special blessing
for all the men during our regular Liturgies

COURAGEOUS MEN TAKING A STAND.
On Sunday, June 17, we shall have
opportunity for our men to take a courageous
stand for Christ, their marriages, their
families and their community by signing the
Courageous Covenant during our Liturgies at

commitment that Christian men are making as
they embrace their vocations.

STEWARDSHIP |
ATLANTIC DISTRICT SPECIAL OFFERING.
Every three years, the Atlantic District of
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has a
regular convention. As our congregation is
part of that district of our church body,
Redeemer sends a voting lay delegate and a
pastoral delegate. Others from our parish
attend as advisory delegates or guests.
Decisions about our life in New York and our
national church body are made during the
convention while people are honored for
their service to our Lord in His Church. On
June 8 (the first day of the convention), we
shall present a special offering to the
Atlantic District at the 58th Regular
Convention. We shall present the money that
we collect in a free will offering that we
receive during the weeks in May. If you wish
to contribute to this offering, you may make
your check payable to “The Atlantic
District” and place it in the envelopes
provided. You may also donate online at
www.redeemerlutheranbronx.org, indicating
that the donation is for this purpose. The
money collected will help the people of our
area in “Engaging the World with the Gospel
of Hope.” To learn more about the Atlan
CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE? If all
those who have offering envelopes increased
their giving by $10 a week, we would be able
to meet our budgeted needs at church. Think
about it—can you make that difference?
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOUR
DONATIONS TO REDEEMER ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Money that you donate to Redeemer
is tax deductible. You receive a
statement (when you use your envelope) at
the end of the year and then you submit that
information to your tax preparer and watch
that money amount become a deduction.
What a blessing that is! So…give and
support the work of God at Redeemer! Donate to Redeemer online at:
www.redeemerlutheranbronx.org/donate.
DO YOU KNOW MAJOR DONORS?
Do you know people who have been gifted with
a lot of money that they could donate to the
Redeemer? If you do, please communicate with
Pastor. As Pastor has indicated before,
those contacts are always welcomed. |

LIPS BIBLE STUDY. The Heart of Jesus:
Women in the Gospel of Luke.
The anxiety, hopes and dreams of women in
the Gospel of Luke are universal. They
mirror our own circumstances and look to the
same Savior for His help in time of their
every need. Our travel through the Gospel
according to St. Luke will assist us in
understanding how God works in all aspects
of our lives as we examine Jesus’
interactions with these women as they
reached out to Him for understanding and
healing and served Him as they were able.
They were motivated to share His Good News
with others and rejoiced in the gift of
faith that His death and resurrection are
real and true. As we share the blessings
and assurances of forgiveness and promises
of hope through Him, may we increase in our
desire to “Witness the Living Christ” as we
receive, teach, celebrate and share Christ
Jesus while engaging the world with the
Gospel of Hope. Here are the dates for the
study: October 23, November 20, December
11, January 15, February 12, March 18, April
22, May 20, June 17.

OPEN HANDS FOR YOU. We are blessed
that so many people are willing to assist us
to be neighborly in the Divine Service.
“Helping All to be Neighbors in the Divine

They are working on helping us to be
neighbors with each other during the
Liturgy. They hand us the bulletins. They
shake our hands. They hand us bags for our
children to use during worship. They motion
to us with their hands so that we can know
where to go and what to do during the
Liturgy. If you would like to be part of
Redeemer HANDS (serving as an usher), please
communicate with Mr. Roy Taylor.
HANDING OUT GIFTS. Our HANDS have
gifts for our first time guests. If you are
